On Saturday, August 2, nearly 400 distinguished guests gathered under the iconic tents on Wickapogue Road in Southampton to celebrate a summer tradition with purpose—the Southampton Hospital Foundation’s 67th Annual Summer Party. The event raised over $1.6 million to benefit Stony Brook Southampton Hospital and the newly opened Stony Brook East Hampton Emergency Department (EHED).

Themed “A Night in Marrakesh,” the evening transported attendees to a Moroccan-inspired oasis complete with henna artistry, elegant canapés, and vibrant décor by renowned designer DeJuan Stroud. Guests sipped signature Gold Fashioneds by The Macklowe, enjoyed live entertainment from American Idol alum Christiaan Padavan, and later danced the night away to Overdrive after an exquisite dinner by Elegant Affairs, paired with wines from Wölffer Estate Vineyard.

“This year felt especially meaningful,” shared Sarah Wetenhall, Summer Party Chair and Southampton Hospital Foundation board member. “The energy, the generosity, the shared sense of purpose—it all reflected the deep connection our community has to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital and the vital care it provides.”

A highlight of the evening was honoring Kate and Andrew Davis for their unwavering dedication and support in expanding healthcare access across the East End. The paddle auction, led by celebrity auctioneer Lydia Fenet, was both spirited and impactful—further reinforcing the community’s commitment to healthcare advancement.

“What stood out to me was not just the generosity, but the genuine enthusiasm,” said James D. Forbes, Board Chairman of The Southampton Hospital Association. “It’s a powerful reminder of what’s possible when people care deeply and act collectively.”

A long list of philanthropic and community leaders lent their support to this year’s success, including: Kate Capshaw and Steven Spielberg, Veronica Atkins, Bloomberg Philanthropies, Margo and John Catsimatidis, Jimmy and Margo Nederlander, Peter Thomas Roth, Jean Shafiroff, and Captain Kerry Titheradge, among many others. Leadership from Stony Brook Medicine and the Southampton Hospital Foundation also played key roles in making the event a standout.

Produced by Luminous Designs, with media partners including BELLA Magazine, Hamptons Magazine, Dan’s Papers, The Purist, and more, the Summer Party continues to be the Hamptons’ longest-running and most impactful benefit.

All proceeds directly support the expansion of healthcare services across the South Fork—including the Paulson Family Emergency Department and the new East Hampton Emergency Department—ensuring high-quality care for the East End community.
