GUCCI PRESENTS WOMEN'S FW24 FASHION SHOW

Sabato De Sarno Presents Guccis Womens Fall Winter 2024 fashion show. The show took place on February 23rd in Fonderia Carlo Macchi, Milan. Sabato’s collection followed the premise of the way of dreaming and alternate perspectives.

“Seek a small subversive gesture. View things from a perspective different from what is presumed most appropriate, not following the rules.”- Sabato De Sarno

Sabato tells Gucci that his dreams “converse with reality.” The focal points of the collection are broken up by movements, outerwear, details, handbags, shoes, and small accessories. The collection is fashion-forward and invites new trends as well as circling back into the homage to Gucci’s past with equestrianism.

The movement section of the collection plays an ode to the craftsmanship of the coats, how each is made by meticulous repetitive movements to stitch and create the clothing. The collection aims to mix small subversive acts with ready-to-wear elements.

The outerwear portion consists of a masculine coat that  ‘transforms into an embrace’ through the use of a hidden button. Other outerwear includes bomber jackets, peacoats, and leather jackets.

The detailed selection includes lace embellishments, overlapping layers, Jacquard prints, and transparent knitwear. In concern to colors, Sabato states that he includes,  “the ugly ones, the ones of the heart, and the wrong ones, together.”

The handbags of the collection introduced a new top handle bag, with the Gucci logo. A half-moon silhouette bag, inspired by the Gucci archive, introduced a new logo. Additionally, there is a gold embellished clutch and a bamboo bucket bag.

The shoes included emphasized the connection between Gucci and equestrianism with horse riding boots, over-the-knee riding boots, and horse bit loafers.

The small accessories used included a galvanized gold archival necklace and cat-acetate sunglasses.
