J. Salinas Return to Milan Fashion Week with Fall 24/25 Collection HUAYLARSH

Peruvian designer Jorge Luis Salinas has made a triumphant return to the catwalk, presenting his Fall 2024 collection at Milan Fashion Week. A celebration of Latin American talent and craftsmanship, paying homage to the traditional dances and costumes of Junín, a city in the heart of Peru's central highlands. Salinas's latest work embodies his deep connection to his roots and an illustration of the cultural richness that defines Latin America.

Inspired by the "flor de la patata," a flower integral to the region's traditional attire, Salinas skillfully incorporates these motifs into the collection through dynamic prints and elaborate embroideries on hand worked alpaca wool. Each piece, whether it be a dress, skirt, or accessory, is meticulously crafted from a mix of alpaca wool, calf leather, and silk organza, that on the runway displayed a unique blend of color, movement, and detail.

The collection's color palette is carefully curated, and vibrant, with vivid hues of fuchsia, red, orange, mustard, and lilac dominating the runway, bringing the spirited essence of Junín's festivities to life. The addition of calf leather bags with pleated details and alpaca wool accessories further enriches the collection, blending tradition with modernity in a way that only Salinas can.

Jorge Luis Salinas is no stranger to the fashion spotlight. Known as "The Pride of Gamarra" in his native Peru, Salinas has honed his design talents in the bustling textile emporium of Gamarra before furthering his education at the Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science. His unique and innovative vision, developed in the creative cauldron of fashion's technical environment, has earned him international acclaim, including victories at the Inter Jeans Men's Fashion Week in Cologne and Gen Art in New York.

Since launching his brand "J. Salinas" in 2016 and debuting at New York Fashion Week, Salinas has captivated audiences worldwide, garnering media attention and opening doors to prestigious partnerships. His designs, celebrated for their innovation and elegance, were featured in Macy's, marking him as a global fashion designer.

Through his work, Salinas not only showcases his formidable talent but also champions the cultural heritage that inspires him, making his return to Milan Fashion Week a great milestone for him as an internationally acclaimed designer and for Latin American fashion.
