Emerging Designers at London Fashion Week

By Daniela Uribe

This fashion month we decided to explore fashion outside of New York City and take on the streets of London. The fashion capital known to nurture and support some of the most innovative, out-of-the-ordinary, and eclectic emerging designers. Surely, we were amazed by the creativity, unique concepts, and innovative looks at the Fashion Collective X Fashion Scout show, which curated the below 3 emerging designers that debuted their Fall 2023 collections at London Fashion Week.

GYOUREE KIM

Gyouree Kims runway was a beautiful amalgamation of historical fashion and modern design along with the intricacies of architecture. Historical corsets, drapes, and movement with a modern twist were seen down the runway. The Korean-born designer has over five years of technical garment-making experience which she further developed by exploring sustainable fashion methodologies to begin building her brand. A design-oriented brand valuing structure, quality, and values.

FIGURA SERVICES

Founded in 2021 by a talented design duo, FIGURA SERVICES strives to create uniforms of expression that perceive the dark alluring psyche of those who wear it. The runway took on a different, more underground, and transforming perspective of clothing and shopping items as we know it. Clothing labels were part of skirt design, security tags were earrings, shoes were decorated with box tape or wire, and garment bags made up an entire look. To add an even more interesting touch, the models had multicolor lights reflecting from their mouths and unconventional makeup. The essence of the brand builds upon continuous transformation and inner truth, narrating disturbance through design.

FELIX BENDISH

The Mumbai-based brand crafts unique garments and accessories with a bold twist of hand embroidering manipulated onto fabric through digital printing. The runway was an exotic and innovative collection of vibrant colors and shapes, drawing inspiration from the designer’s fascination with illusions, projecting these onto each unique design enhancing the innovative approach to craftsmanship.

Fashion Scout is a leading international platform for nurturing, empowering, and showcasing emerging fashion and accessories designers from around the world. The Future Collective X Fashion Scout runway was pleasantly diverse, innovative, and highly creative. Focusing on each designer’s interpretation of the future and depicting their unique style. Fashion Scout provides bespoke mentoring and capacity-building programs for emerging designers internationally providing them with the opportunity to showcase their work to the international market and grow their business sustainably.
