Tap Expands Its New York-Based Gluten-Free Brazilian Superfood Concept to Brickell, Miami

Tap, celebrated for its dedication to a completely gluten-free menu highlighting Brazilian superfoods, is excited to unveil its inaugural location outside of New York in Brickell, Miami, opened in August 2024. Located in the lively financial district of Miami, Tap Brickell aims to offer its guests an authentic experience of Brazilian culture.

In its 7th year of business, Tap operates as a fast-casual concept with three thriving locations across New York City and Astoria/Queens. The new Brickell location will maintain Tap's hallmark of offering a health-conscious dining experience without compromising on flavor.

Tap CEO Pedro Uchôa expresses his enthusiasm about expanding to Miami, stating, "We are thrilled to introduce Tap's distinctive flavors and commitment to gluten-free dining to the vibrant community of Brickell. Our new location will showcase the best of Brazil's diverse cuisine, coupled with unique details that create a special experience infused with the energy and spirit of Miami. We look forward to becoming the neighborhood’s go-to Brazilian café.”

Tap, which stands for Tapioca Sandwiches, Açaí Bowls, and Pão de Queijo, will also feature an array of enticing options, including Egg Wraps, Paninis, Signature Smoothies, Juices, and Brazilian-sourced coffee. The Tapioca Sandwiches, made from cassava imported from Brazil, fuse Brazilian culture with American favorites such as the BaconEggNCheese Tapioca Sandwich and the Chicken Club Tapioca Sandwich. Another favorite, Pão de Queijo, a Brazilian cheese bread made in-house with a unique blend of Mozzarella, Swiss, and Parmesan, will be offered in three flavors: traditional, spicy, and pesto.

Tap COO Cleo Uchôa, a Forbes Under 30 Brazil honoree, brings his Rio de Janeiro roots and passion for Brazilian cuisine to every aspect of the restaurant's operations. “From our tapioca sandwiches to our special recipe of Pão de Queijo, we aim to showcase Brazil’s rich culinary offerings. Our açaí is sustainably sourced from the Amazon rainforest, where locals still climb trees to harvest berries before they are shipped to the US.” The Açaí Bowls will feature an array of fresh toppings, including homemade vegan granola, coconut flakes, cocoa nibs, chia seeds, passion fruit, mango, strawberries, bananas, and blueberries.

In addition to promoting healthy eating through Brazilian superfoods, Tap emphasizes sustainability and community impact with its motto, “Eat Well, Do Good, Live Better!” The restaurant utilizes biodegradable PLA cups and fosters relationships with local stakeholders to create a positive influence within the community and initiate efforts to bring positive impacts to Brazil.

The look and feel of the restaurant is eye-catching. Upon entering, customers are transported to the vibrant heart of Brazil. Designed to reflect the beauty and spirit of the country, the space offers an immersive experience blending art, culture, and nature. Hand-painted palm fronds frame the entrance, complemented by oversized, bright umbrellas that provide ample shade. Inside, colorful murals by Rio de Janeiro-based graffiti artist Acme (@universoacme) depict lush jungles, an iconic depiction of Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain, and playful macaws and toucans.

Photographs by prodigy Nino Franco (@ninofrancoo) adorn the walls and invite guests on a visual journey through Brazil’s diverse landscapes from sun-kissed beaches to açaí berries and mesmerizing ocean waves. A highlight of the décor is a green wall mounted on rustic brick, adding a touch of nature. The restaurant will play Brazilian music and offer guests complimentary Wi-Fi, ensuring all patrons enjoy the vibe.

Tap Brickell is located at 1250 S Miami Avenue, #105 and will be open daily from 8am to 8pm. For more information about Tap and its offerings, visit TapNyc.com or follow @eat_tap on Instagram.
