The event held ocean side in Miami Beach had guests attending in elegant blue and yellow attire and enjoying multiple performances by artists Natalka Karpa, Nay Roze, Tatyana Melamed, live art by Arte Miro, food, drinks, dancers, and more. Art, beauty, fashion, and health services were auctioned throughout the night to raise funds for the people of Ukraine. This beautiful event is not the first successful fundraiser held by the Miami Loves Ukraine program, the program had previously raised over $150,000 in March 2022 that was distributed on an emergency basis to the most vulnerable on-the-ground volunteers and accredited charities in Ukraine.
The purpose for this year’s fundraiser initiative named “Survive Freezing Winter” was to rise over $100,000 for winter relief items and wood-burning stoves for community centers. According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, this winter would be “the worst winter since the independence of Ukraine” and many victims would struggle to obtain enough resources to survive, it. For this reason, Miami Loves Ukraine program under INNATA joined forces to raise funds for winter resources.
Miami Loves Ukraine is a women-led program organized by Krystyna Laukien, Yuliia Faist, Anirays Camino, Natalia Lopez and Anna Mehrabi. Its mission is to deliver the most urgent humanitarian aid like perishable goods, medical supplies, and support to vulnerable victims of the war in Ukraine. In Miami they also support Ukraine refugees by providing emotional growth aid and adaptability advice. Their vision is to create an accessible platform that can quickly identify and provide the most critical needs including mental health and medical assistance to injured, disabled, and vulnerable victims of the war in Ukraine.
