The Beating Heart of Singapore

Crazy Rich Asians was a global phenomenon on the big screen with its heartwarming plot and talented cast. However, what truly set it apart was its dazzling, vibrant imagery. This fact was in part a direct result of the gorgeous locations showcased throughout the film. If you wish to experience such beautiful locations yourself, look no further than the country where most of the filming took place, Singapore. If someone wishes to travel to the Asian continent, Singapore is a must-see destination with its abundance of picturesque locations.

One of these locations is called Gardens by the Bay. These gardens are often featured in films because of the unique structures, known as Supertrees, found within the confines of the expansive park. Over 160 feet tall, these man-made vertical gardens resemble enormous trees with branches reaching toward the clouds. Even from miles away, one can see the towering structures shining like beacons from among the surrounding treetops. After the sun goes down, the Supertrees also act as the centerpieces for a breathtaking light show that should not be missed. Additionally, one can find several other attractions within Gardens by the Bay including a spectacular indoor waterfall and conservatories where one can see a large variety of beautiful plant life.

It is important to note that any conversation about Singapore would not be complete without mentioning one of the most beautiful hotels in the world, Marina Bay Sands. Many of the locations seen in several popular movies including Crazy Rich Asians were also filmed at this hotel because of the sheer number of beautiful locations one can see throughout its grounds. Located directly across the street from Gardens by the Bay, one can find almost anything they desire in Marina Bay Sands… from a unique nightclub experience to a myriad of restaurants that offer a culinary journey around the world, from the famous rooftop infinity pool that seems to go on for miles to an expansive mall spanning close to 800,000 square feet.

One of the breathtaking attractions found in Marina Bay Sands, as previously mentioned, is the iconic infinity pool on the SkyPark. It is a very well-known attraction around the world, and if one is lucky enough to see it in person, it is clear why that is the case. There is nothing like it anywhere else on the planet. The pool is equally as striking in its beauty and magnificence as the Singapore skyline seen over its edge. One looks across the water and feels as if they can swim out and touch the impressive buildings in the distance. At the edge of the pool, one truly understands the meaning of the word infinity.

For a sensational shopping experience, a trip to Singapore would not be complete without a visit to The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. With 270 boutiques and restaurants, it becomes clear why it is considered Asia's Premier Luxury Shopping Destination. Do not miss the chance to see the world’s only Louis Vuitton floating boutique. The store is located on the bay and can only be accessed through an underwater tunnel which makes for an unforgettable experience when visiting. In addition to all the stores found within the shopping center, there is also a wide variety of restaurants featuring world-renowned chefs from around the globe. One can experience the unique flavors of distinctive cuisines from different countries around the world without ever having to leave the premises. There are other must-see attractions including Art-Science Museum, sampan boat rides, and nightly showings of Spectra, an outdoor light and water extravaganza. So, the possibilities are truly endless for everything one can see and do.

Finally, if you are looking for a riveting nightclub experience, then look no further than Marquee Nightclub located within The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. It is Singapore’s largest nightclub with its three-story vertical setup and has several unique features that set it apart from other typical clubs. Immediately upon entering Marquee, one is greeted by the sight of a towering indoor Ferris wheel spanning the entire height of the multi-floor club, equipped with photobooths in each pod. Additionally, if one desires a more riveting way to travel from the top floor to the bottom floor, they can take advantage of the spiral slide connecting the different levels of the club. Many celebrity guest DJs also make an appearance often including Steve Aoki and Afrojack as well as dancers that keep the party lively all night. Therefore, if anyone is looking for a fun night of dancing, there is no better place to go than Marquee.

To conclude, Singapore is a beautiful city that should be on anyone’s bucket list when contemplating a trip to Asia. It boasts lovely scenery, picturesque cityscapes, and unique attractions. It is a city unlike any other. Even while simply taking a walk outside, one can feel the vibrant pulse of life in its streets. But where does this feeling originate? In my opinion, the answer is simple. Much like the life-giving pulse in a human body can be attributed to a strong, beating heart, the epicenter of this unique, all-encompassing city atmosphere is Marina Bay Sands.
