LES PARAPLUIES DE CHOCHENG
Paris, September 25, 2023
CHOCHENG, a renowned New York-based fashion brand that has been making waves at New York Fashion Week since 2017, made its first appearance at Paris Fashion Week, 2023. Known for its strong commitment to sustainability and innovation, CHOCHENG is poised to leave a lasting impression with its latest collection.
Remaining true to its sustainability principles, CHOCHENG continues to upcycle old fabric and samples from its existing stock. The brand exclusively employs natural materials, reaffirming its dedication to eco-conscious fashion. Furthermore, CHOCHENG has announced its aspiration to fully transition to a vegan brand soon, underlining its commitment to ethical fashion practices.
This collection draws its inspiration from "Les Parapluies De Cherbourg," a masterpiece by Jacques Demy and Michel Legrand, as well as the vibrant French Yé-yé music scene.
When it comes to fabrics and materials, CHOCHENG seamlessly blends upcycled vintage fabrics with pink Harris Tweed and silk charmeuse. These are complemented by newly sourced vegan materials, including cotton boucle, cotton velvet, cotton crepe, and Swarovski crystals.
The collection is a testament to the brand's meticulous craftsmanship, featuring signature hand-sewn petals, braids, cords, box pleats, and embroidered buttons. A captivating array of pink shades dominates the color palette, evoking a romantic and retro ambiance. In terms of silhouettes, anticipate soft, round cape silhouettes, mini-skirts, shorts, and kilts that perfectly capture the essence of yé-yé.
