Cartier Unveils Its New Permanent Palm Beach Boutique at The Royal Poinciana Plaza

Cartier has opened the doors to its new permanent boutique in Palm Beach, a milestone that celebrates both the coastal elegance of the city and the Maison’s century-long connection to the area. The luxury house first established a presence in Palm Beach in 1924 with a seasonal boutique in the historic Beaux Arts Building. Today, that legacy continues with a beautifully reimagined space at 70 Royal Poinciana Plaza, offering the full breadth of Cartier’s iconic craftsmanship.

The boutique showcases Cartier’s complete range of jewelry, fine jewelry, timepieces, leather goods, fragrance, and accessories, inviting clients into an environment rooted in creativity, cultural immersion, and the exceptional service synonymous with the Maison. More than a retail destination, the space serves as an oasis of discovery designed for the modern Palm Beach client.

A Historic Setting Reimagined

The new boutique occupies part of the former Royal Poinciana Playhouse, a beloved cultural landmark at the west end of the plaza. Originally opened in 1958 and designed by architect John Volk in the Regency Revival style, the Playhouse long served as a hub for arts and community. Cartier preserves this history by maintaining the building’s original façade—protected by the Landmarks Preservation Commission—including the Italian-imported statues representing the four seasons.

Inside, the Maison pays homage to Regency architecture with thoughtful design elements: ornate wrought-iron flourishes, classical friezes, wooden shutters, and colored stucco façades. Dramatic arched windows are dressed with ombré curtains woven on hand-operated looms, a nod to the grand stage curtains that once signaled the beginning and end of each performance at the Playhouse.

A Tribute to Palm Beach’s Natural Beauty

The interiors take inspiration from Palm Beach’s luminous coastal landscape. Sun-filled rooms are framed by soaring 17-foot ceilings, while a hand-painted gradient of golden tones washes across the walls. Custom reliefs of native foliage, wooden flooring that evokes the area’s seafaring tradition, and opalescent Murano glass sconces shaped like seashells and palm leaves create an atmosphere that is both sophisticated and transportive. These subtle natural cues also echo the motifs found throughout Cartier’s own design language.

The boutique is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
