From Tuscany with Love: Bea Olive Oil is Fresh + Full of Purpose
By Jennifer MacLellan
Bea Olive Oil is bringing real extra virgin olive oil back to the table, one small batch at a time.
Most olive oil found on U.S. shelves is already two to three years old by the time it arrives. Often diluted with seed oils, dyed for color, and stripped of natural antioxidants, it’s far from the fresh, health-boosting staple it’s meant to be. Olive oil is also one of the most counterfeited foods in the world, with over 80% of bottles mislabeled.
Bea Olive Oil is changing that. Founded by Beatrice Karp, a University of Pennsylvania grad who left a career in cybersecurity to work as an olive picker in Tuscany, the brand was born from a desire to bring transparency, quality, and freshness back to olive oil.
Bea partners with small-scale Tuscan farmers, using traditional methods and strict standards to create a truly premium product. Olives are hand-picked at peak ripeness and cold-pressed within two hours of harvest to preserve flavor and polyphenol content. Each year’s oil is released in November, following the natural harvest cycle. No leftovers from previous seasons, ever.
Beatrice is hands-on throughout the process. She picks, presses, bottles, and even labels alongside the farmers. She also helps producers navigate FDA regulations so they can export their oils for the first time and revive groves that would otherwise be abandoned.
Every detail is carefully considered. Trees are grown in clean, residential areas to protect soil quality. Harvesting tools are gentle, and small private mills are used to avoid contamination. The oil is stored in stainless steel tanks that protect it from heat, light, and oxygen—all of which degrade freshness and nutrition.
Bea Olive Oil is rich in polyphenols, the compounds linked to gut, brain, and heart health. The result is a vibrant, peppery oil that doesn’t just taste amazing—it supports overall wellness.
Even the packaging is thoughtfully chosen. Each bottle is made of heavy, dark glass with a non-removable cap, protecting the oil from light and tampering.
With each harvest, Bea Olive Oil proves that freshness matters, quality is everything, and knowing where your food comes from makes all the difference.
