YOSHIKI Donates 10 million Yen to Red Cross to Support Victims of the Taiwan Earthquake

Fashion designer, musician, and philanthropist YOSHIKI has donated 10 million Yen to the Taiwan Red Cross Organization in support of those affected by the Taiwan earthquake that occurred on April 3rd, 2024. The donation was made through the YOSHIKI FOUNDATION AMERICA and was made to the Red Cross Society of the Republic of China. 

YOSHIKI in January of this year made a donation of 10 million yen in support of earthquake victims and also auctioned his beloved crystal piano gaining the winning bid of 40 million yen to the Japanese Red Cross Society. 

YOSHIKI said, "I have performed many concerts in Taiwan. My heart hurts when I think about the feelings of all the fans and the victims of the disaster. I would like to express my deepest sympathies to everyone affected by this disaster. I pray that peaceful days will return as soon as possible."

The YOSHIKI FOUNDATION AMERICA has been illuminated for its generous charitable causes. YOSHIKI’s acclaimed humanitarian work has included support for disaster relief some of the donations being to aid for the wildfires in the Amazon rainforest, hurricane Harvey relief, and teaming up with the Australian Red Cross and Rainforest Trust conversation acts to aid bushfire victims. 

The foundation has also had a history of providing support to earthquake victims in the past including hosting concerts for orphans affected and profitable donations. He also has made donations to endeavors pertaining International Organization of Migration and a foundation supporting music professionals affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. 

YOSHIKI is internationally respected for his philanthropic endeavors and has donated 2 million dollars alone through YOSHIKI FOUNDATION AMERICA earning him being named in Forbes as one of “Asia’s Top 30 Heroes of Philanthropy.” He also received a Medal of Honor from the Japanese Government in 2021.
