In the world of fitness and movement, Tracy Anderson has been helping people change their lives for more than two decades. It’s a path she never envisioned but one she feels she was meant to follow.
Immersed in the world of dance from a young age (her mom has owned a ballet school for over 40 years), Tracy moved to New York at the age of 18 to follow her dream of becoming a professional ballerina. Once there, she was faced with a harsh reality as she struggled with her weight. While she possessed the talent, Tracy was told she did not have the body for dance.
“I had a personal weighted disappointment that the dream I had carved for myself—my personal goal—was not going to be possible because of something I could not help,” Tracy recalls.
At no point did anyone within the industry, one heavily focused on body image, share with Tracy a healthy way to achieve the results they required. While she felt lost, Tracy remained focused on the other areas of her life that brought her joy.
“I’m proud that I kept a personal curiosity and limitless attitude about myself,” she explains.”... to read the full cover story purchase the full issue here!
