First up, mark your calendars for June 6th, as Maria Camila stars in XYZ Film's highly anticipated release, "The Ritual." This gripping film, based on a true story, plunges into the harrowing world of Emma Schmidt, an American woman whose demonic possession led to one of the most thoroughly documented exorcism cases in American history. "The Ritual" follows two priests, one grappling with his faith and the other haunted by his past, as they must set aside their differences to save a possessed young woman through a difficult and dangerous series of exorcisms. Maria Camila takes on the role of Sister Camila, playing alongside Ashley Greene as another sister, and together they uncover some intriguing truths about each other – truths that could be good or evil. With a stellar cast including Al Pacino, Patricia Heaton, Ashley Greene, and Dan Stevens, and written by Midell and Enrico Natale, "The Ritual" promises to be an authentic and unforgettable cinematic experience.
Another much-anticipated project for Maria Camila is "At the Sea," which is poised to make waves on the film festival circuit. This moving film stars the amazing Amy Adams, and Maria Camila's role as Doctor Ventura serves as a pivotal turning point in Amy's emotional journey. After Amy's son is injured under her watch, Doctor Ventura steps in to care for him. When Amy fails to appear, Maria Camila's character makes the difficult decision to call his father, leading to a confrontation that exposes the fragility of Amy’s recovery. As a steady, composed presence, Doctor Ventura becomes a mirror to Amy’s unraveling, catalyzing her realization that despite her efforts, she’s still falling short. Directed by Kornel Mudrizco and written by Kata Weber, "At the Sea" also features an incredible cast including Murray Barlett, Dan Levy, and Jenny Slate.
You might already recognize Maria Camila from her compelling work in other projects, like "Crescent City," where she appeared opposite Esai Morales and Terrance Howard. On the television side, she recently graced the screen in Sofia Vergara's hit mini-series, "GRISELDA," and has previously captivated audiences with recurring roles on popular Telemundo series such as "La Reina Del Sur," "Her Mother's Killer," and "Queen of Flow."

Originally from Cali, Colombia, Maria Camila's path to the arts was a self-blazed trail. Despite art not being a family tradition, her passion ignited early. As a young girl, her afternoons were a vibrant blend of ballet, piano, and theater. She was also the designated family photographer, meticulously capturing every vacation moment. But more than just snapshots, she transformed these opportunities into mini-movies with her cousins and delighted everyone with one-woman shows. It was clear – she was born to be an actor. The profound impact of "V for Vendetta" solidified this realization, as she found the performances incredibly compelling and intense, demonstrating how acting can convey deep emotions and complex ideas, leaving a lasting impact on audiences. This ignited passion led her to the acting world, starting with shows on Telemundo, Caracol, and Univision. One of her biggest breaks came as a VJ, correspondent, and host for MTV News Latin America.
When she's not captivating audiences on screen, Maria Camila is a visionary entrepreneur. After dealing with post-concussion symptoms, she sought natural solutions for sleep and focus, which led her to co-found Fungiments, a supplement company dedicated to enhancing everyday life. She wanted to share the powerful message of natural wellness. And that's not all – in the next few months, she's launching I Feel You Films, a production company. Having spent considerable time in the entertainment industry, Maria Camila felt a strong need to have more control over the narratives she was involved in. Film and TV have been instrumental in helping her navigate so many feelings and situations in her own life, and she wants to create stories that reflect that, and help others do the same. Her goal is to bring to life disruptive narratives around modern femininity and its multifaceted essence – the softness, strength, mutual support, cleverness, kindness, and intense emotions.
And when she does have some free time, you'll find Maria Camila exercising or cooking while dancing to salsa. She also enjoys hiking and dancing with friends.
Maria Camila Giraldo is more than just a talented actress; she's a passionate storyteller, an inspiring entrepreneur, and a vibrant personality who is truly making her mark on the world. Keep an eye out for her – her star is only just beginning to shine!
