In addition to her acting work, Lauren has a tremendous heart for giving back to her community. Despite being born in LA, she was raised in London where she became an accomplished equestrian. Today, her love for horses has led her to working with physical therapists who teach disabled children to ride on horseback. Lauren is also passionate about working with foster children and those with special needs, including organizations like Gigi's Playhouse, which specializes in programming and support for people with Down Syndrome. Lauren’s dedication to mental health awareness and mindfulness has led to more productivity in her career and inspired her to start a business coaching other actors about mindset and maintaining a good headspace. 100% of the profits from the mindset meet-ups go to Heart Gallery Tampa, an organization that finds forever families for children in the Tampa Bay foster care system.

Undoubtedly an actress on the rise, BELLA spoke with Lauren on her life, career, and advocacy...

Share with our readers, your journey into acting.

I was born in Los Angeles and began acting when I was a toddler. I continued to work as an actor in London (where I was raised) and then moved to New York to continue studying theatre, film, and television at NYU. Ultimately, I made the decision to continue studying acting outside of school and got a degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. I spent some time teaching children with special needs and luckily still get to work with children through volunteer work. I now travel between New York, Los Angeles and Atlanta for film and television.

You have a new Netflix Series, “Florida Man,” debuting April 13th (how exciting!) Tell us about the series and your character.

Thank you! I play Kaitlin Fox, an ambitious Orlando news anchor who is surrounded by shady characters in Florida, and when she catches wind of nefarious activity, is determined to find a story to change her career that ultimately threatens to derail everyone’s criminal plans. The series has an incredible cast including Edgar Ramírez, Abbey Lee, Anthony LaPaglia, Clark Gregg, Paul Schneider, Emory Cohen, Lex Scott Davis, Otmara Marrro, Sibongile Mlambo, Michael Esper, Isabel Gamers, and Isaiah Johnson. It was created by the amazing Donald Todd and is produced by Aggregate Films. The entire cast and crew were an absolute dream to work with and I can’t wait for everyone to see it!

In addition to acting, you are a mental health advocate, something we are very vocal about at BELLA. What are you doing to keep moving the needle forward surrounding mental health?

I am passionate about discussing, de-stigmatizing and prioritizing mental health because it wasn’t discussed as widely as it is now when I was growing up and it’s such a critical part of life and maintaining a healthy perspective within the entertainment industry, or any job for that matter! I love to share tools (including tapping, meditation, breath work, journaling practice, movement, etc.) and resources that help me realign to a growth mindset and love to follow thought leaders like Daniel Amen, Mel Robbins, Jay Shetty, Brendon Burchard and Gabby Bernstein. The Paradox Process is also a fantastic resource. It’s important to me to be open about being a work in progress during a point and time where we see everyone’s highlight reels on social media.

Before you got into acting, you were an accomplished equestrian? Is that something you are still passionate about?

I am! I ride as much as my schedule allows, but I now volunteer at Chastain Horse Park in Atlanta when I’m able, where I help facilitate therapeutic horseback riding lessons for riders of all abilities. It’s a fantastic program that I highly recommend to anyone who can volunteer!

And as if you don’t juggle enough, you are a former educator and are deeply involved in philanthropy… tell our readers about your work with children, and organizations such as Gigi’s Playhouse and Heart Gallery.

I currently hold a donation-based mindset meet-up once a month and all proceeds go entirely to support Heart Gallery. Heart Gallery Tampa helps place children in foster care in their forever homes. They found homes for 33 children last year alone! These meets-ups are a tangible way I can share tools and resources to maintain mental health in all stages of life and one’s career. If interested in joining, please reach out to me on Instagram at @lauren_buglioli! I used to volunteer in the drama program in NYC at Gigi’s Playhouse, teaching drama to children with Down Syndrome, and now it’s important to me to spread awareness about their program and celebrate the work they do! They have a virtual walk each year, which is a wonderful way to get involved and support their organization as they continue to support children with Down Syndrome and their families.

Can you tell us about any exciting upcoming roles you have in the pipeline?

Next up I’ll be in Bill Lawrence’s Bad Monkey for Apple TV+ and the feature Cinnamon for Village Roadshow Entertainment opposite Damon Wayans!

Finally, where can our readers follow along with you? (Social media/website)
