Dairy Dreams Come to Life at the French Cheese Board

The French are known for many things -- bread, wine, pastries, and of course, cheese. And luckily, New Yorkers have had the privilege of having their own French oasis in the heart of Nolita for eight years. The French Cheese Board, which recently moved to a new location at 56 Spring Street, is bigger and better than ever.

More than just a store, the French Cheese Board offers customers an entire French experience, blending art, design, and food in an innovative and educational way. The space will feature a rotating curation of French cheeses and butter, as well as an event space that will be home to the store's classes and exhibits, as well as a hands-on demo kitchen. Classes like Fromage 101 and cheese board building are among the regular programming.

Currently, the event space has been transformed with the current exhibition NFT: Fromage from the Metaverse. Using projectors to display moving works of art, this exhibit features cheese-inspired works of art from emerging crypto artists who each showcase their unique visualization of taste. “Four artists were commissioned to create art that will be showcased in both New York and Paris. Their art will evoke gustatory emotion. Each of the artist’s works will express their personal feelings about French cheese through this modern medium,” explains Laurent Damiens, COO, CNIEL. The latest exhibit is just one example of how the French Cheese Board implements popular culture into its programming, always creating innovative ways to connect consumers with the beloved world of French cheese.
