“My Mom Jane” Premieres at Hamptons Film Summer Docs Series
On Thursday, July 17th, the Hamptons’ cultural scene was abuzz as the documentary My Mom Jane made its East End debut as part of the 2025 HamptonsFilm Summer Docs series. Hosted at the stunning Baker House 1650 in East Hampton, the evening brought together film lovers, Hamptonites, and industry insiders for an intimate screening of one of the year’s most personal and powerful documentaries.
Directed with emotional clarity and depth, My Mom Jane explores the public and private life of Hollywood icon Jayne Mansfield, told through the lens of her daughter, Mariska Hargitay. A deeply personal journey, the film not only sheds light on Mansfield’s glamorous yet tumultuous life but also follows Hargitay’s own emotional path as she reconciles her mother’s legacy, her stepfather Mickey Hargitay, and her biological father Nelson Sardelli.
Having previously premiered at Cannes in May and Tribeca Festival in June, My Mom Jane has garnered critical acclaim for its raw vulnerability and stunning archival storytelling. Now streaming on HBO Max as of June 27, 2025, the film continues to spark conversations about fame, identity, and familial connection.
The Hamptons screening marked a meaningful moment for the Summer Docs series—an evening where legacy, memory, and artistry intertwined under the East Hampton sky.
