Louis Vuitton Unveils Its First La Beauté Collaboration With Dame Pat McGrath and Nicolas Ghesquière
Dame Pat McGrath and Nicolas Ghesquière translate more than two decades of runway collaboration into a limited-edition collection celebrating 130 years of Louis Vuitton’s iconic Monogram.
Louis Vuitton is bringing one of fashion’s most enduring creative conversations beyond the runway.
For the first-ever La Beauté Louis Vuitton collaboration, the Maison has united Artistic Director Nicolas Ghesquière and Creative Director, Cosmetics, Dame Pat McGrath DBE for a limited-edition collection spanning eyes and lips—and rooted in the creative partnership the two have cultivated backstage for years.
Inspired by two iconic Louis Vuitton canvases, Monogram Dune and Monogram Infrarouge, the collection arrives as the Maison celebrates the 130th anniversary of its legendary Monogram.
Rather than approaching beauty as an accessory to fashion, Ghesquière and McGrath envision it as another language through which the Louis Vuitton woman can express herself.
“Beauty has always been complementary to how I conceive a silhouette—it completes the character, the attitude, the emotion of a look,” says Ghesquière. “With La Beauté Louis Vuitton, we are extending that vision beyond the runway.”
A Creative Conversation, Decades in the Making
Long before La Beauté Louis Vuitton existed, Dame Pat McGrath was helping define the beauty language of the Maison’s runway shows, transforming each collection’s mood, silhouette, and story through makeup.
When Ghesquière became Louis Vuitton’s Artistic Director, that relationship evolved into a close creative dialogue.
For McGrath, this new collection feels less like a traditional collaboration and more like the natural evolution of a partnership already forged backstage.
“Nicolas and I have been building looks together backstage at Louis Vuitton for so many years now there is a shorthand between us: a trust and a creative cohesion,” McGrath explains.
The collection, she says, began not with a conventional product brief, but with a feeling—the same instinctive creative process that takes place before a Louis Vuitton runway show.
The result is not simply a selection of makeup products, but two fully realized beauty identities.
Two Canvases. Two Women. One Louis Vuitton.
At the heart of the collaboration is duality.
Softness and strength. Light and shadow. Intimacy and intensity.
Monogram Dune and Monogram Infrarouge represent two contrasting—but complementary—expressions of the Louis Vuitton woman, reflecting the many ways femininity can shift without ever compromising identity.
One whispers. The other commands.
Together, they create a beauty wardrobe that moves effortlessly between understated luminosity and unapologetic drama.
Monogram Dune: Quiet Luxury, Reimagined
Monogram Dune is defined by warmth, softness, and poetic luminosity.
Drawing inspiration from the changing light of a desert landscape, the collection explores soft beige, sun-warmed nude, and luminous neutral tones designed to feel effortless and intimate.
It is beauty as quiet power: refined without feeling overly polished and elegant without demanding attention.
“Monogram Dune is luminous and warm,” says McGrath. “Her beauty is timeless, effortless—and all the more powerful for it.”
The Monogram Dune collection includes:
LV Ombres 724 Monogram Dune Eyeshadow Palette — $340
A Tribute to Shifting Horizons
A sophisticated eye palette inspired by the shifting tones, depth, and light of the desert.
LV Rouge 724 Monogram Dune Satin Lipstick — $195
The Poetry of Delicacy

LV Baume 098 Stellar Veil Topper Lip Balm — $195
Capturing Light and Illusion
A luminous finishing balm designed to bring dimension and reflected light to the lips.
Monogram Infrarouge: Beauty Without Permission
If Dune represents quiet confidence, Monogram Infrarouge is its fearless counterpart.
Inspired by Louis Vuitton’s dramatic black-and-vivid-red Monogram Infrarouge canvas, the collection is built around contrast, intensity, and unapologetic femininity.
This is the Louis Vuitton woman at her most commanding: bold without being performative, dramatic without asking for approval.
“Where Monogram Dune whispers, Monogram Infrarouge declares,” McGrath says of the collection.
“Infrarouge is the counterpart to Dune—fearless, high-contrast, unapologetic,” she adds. “She does not ask for your attention. She commands it.”
The Monogram Infrarouge collection includes:
LV Ombres 715 Monogram Infrarouge Eyeshadow Palette — $340
The Power of Self-Definition
A high-impact eye palette channeling the striking contrast and saturated intensity of the Infrarouge canvas.

LV Baume 099 Galactic Veil Topper Lip Balm — $195
Intensity in Every Reflection
A reflective topper that adds another dimension of light to the Infrarouge beauty look.
From the Runway to the Vanity
For Louis Vuitton, the collaboration represents something larger than a limited-edition beauty drop.
It brings the instinctive beauty language McGrath and Ghesquière have created together backstage into the everyday world of the Louis Vuitton woman—allowing the emotion and character of the runway to become something personal.
At the same time, the collection honors one of the Maison’s most enduring signatures. One hundred and thirty years after the introduction of the Louis Vuitton Monogram, its visual language continues to evolve, moving from trunks and leather goods to fashion—and now, beauty.
Whether drawn to the understated glow of Monogram Dune or the striking intensity of Monogram Infrarouge, the message is ultimately the same: femininity does not have to choose between softness and strength.
It can be both.
The limited-edition La Beauté Louis Vuitton collaboration launched online August 20 and in Louis Vuitton stores August 27.
