Taylor Dayne Releases New Record: Capitol Sessions

Pop sensation Taylor Dayne has announced a new project, Capitol Sessions, covering past pop songs, giving them an experimental pop sound. The Grammy nominee is best praised for her viral song Tell It to My Heart

After 35 years since her viral song, Taylor’s new project is something much different and introduces listeners to a new sound. This 6 song EP is recorded at the iconic Capitol Studio in LA with 9-time Grammy winner Greg Field. This project takes a collection of Taylor's favorite pieces of music across pop music, which she then records herself. She stripped these songs of their original sound and gave them her edge.

Some of the songs recorded on Capitol Sessions include, "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran, "Paper Planes" by MIA, "Lose You To Love You" by Selena Gomez, "Gravity" by John Mayer, and more generational pop songs contrast with the new sound like "This Bitter Earth" from Dinah Washington and "Without the One You Love" by the Four Tops.

When asked about the EP Taylor tells fans, "I love being able to curate songs from a different point-of-view. When I hear a song by a male, I always want to know what it would sound like from the female angle and vice-versa. With over three decades in the music industry, I strive to continue and educate all music lovers and of course; my day ones."

Taylor is not only a pop star but she is also a songwriter, activist, and ambassador for WACOAL in backing their mission to Fit for the Cure. Her iconic song made headlines almost two decades later for its rendition by electronic artist Cash Cash- making the song a club hit.

“Capitol Sessions” is available to stream on Apple Music and Spotify. To follow Taylor’s journey and keep up with her LOVE ME TOUR follow @therealtaylordayne.
