Olivia Applegate Stars in HBO Max’s Limited Series “Love and Death”
Olivia Applegate is heading for a breakthrough year – as she appears in two anticipated projects this spring.
First, Applegate is playing Carol Crowder in HBO Max’s “Love & Death”, a limited true crime series that premiered on April 27th. The true crime limited series stars Elizabeth Olson, Jesse Plemons & Tom Pelphrey and is produced by David E. Kelley and Nicole Kidman. The series tells the story of Texas housewife Candy Montgomery, who was accused of murdering her friend (and romantic rival) with an axe in the 1980’s. “Love & Death” had its premiere at this year’s SXSW Film Festival. She follows this role with a starring role in the Western horror film “Organ Trail” on Paramount. The film will premiere in limited theatres & digital on May 12th. Applegate will also be seen in the upcoming Hulu comedy “Honeymoon Friends.”
Applegate fell in love with performance after being cast in the church musical at the age of three. However, her practical side took over and she decided to go to college as a philosophy major with a plan to become an attorney. Fatefully, a friend sent her an audition opportunity for a feature film and she decided to take a chance at her dream. She got the role and has never looked back.
Applegate starred opposite Rooney Mara in Terrance Malick’s feature “Song to Song,” and also the independent dramas “The Honor Farm.” She co-starred in the critically acclaimed “Krisha” which won the SXSW Grand Jury Prize & Audience Award and was also accepted into Cannes Semaine de la Critique.
Applegate’s previous TV credits include “Euphoria,” “Driven,” “The Gifted,” “Dirty John,” and “Revolution.” She is also a talented singer who was a quarter finalist and fan favorite on “America’s Got Talent” as part of music duo Eric & Olivia.
