Miami Design District Bestows 2023 Annual Design Commission to Lara Bohinc, Unveiling 'Utopia' – a Transformative Art Installation from November 2023 to March 2024. Bohinc's visionary creation spans four installations featuring organic, bulbous forms reminiscent of cellular growth. These sculptures, resembling living organisms, will sprout throughout the district, envisioning a city where nature coexists harmoniously with human presence. The collection includes outdoor seating, tables, oversized light sculptures, a central egg-form masterpiece, and 900 egg-shaped birdhouses nestled among the trees. Crafted from hand-painted cork in vibrant hues inspired by Miami's architectural palette, Bohinc's pieces evoke a cityscape where art and nature converge. Curated in collaboration with Design Miami/Curatorial Lab, 'Utopia' promises to be a dynamic and immersive experience, welcoming visitors with a special installation at the entrance of the Design Miami fair.

DACRA Headquarters in Miami Welcomes the Craig Robins Collection: "A Train of Thoughts" Exhibition. Housing an impressive array of over 1,300 contemporary art pieces and cutting-edge designs, the collection takes center stage within the Miami Design District. This year's rehanging, aptly named "A Train of Thoughts," meticulously explores two integral facets of the collection: figuration and conceptualism. Offering a captivating glimpse into the collection's distinct emphasis on the abject and hyperbolic figurative image, as well as a commitment to self-reflexive, institutionally critical art rooted in ideas. Despite their apparent disparities, these elements converge to ignite unexpected dialogues, creating a tapestry of diverse artistic narratives. Mark your calendars for December 6 to 8, as DACRA Headquarters at 3841 NE 2nd Ave., Miami, FL 33137, transforms into a hub of immersive artistic exploration

Forms, the eighth annual group exhibition co-presented by Jeffrey Deitch and Gagosian during Miami Art Week, will grace the Design District. Located at 35 NE 40th St., Miami, FL 33137, this exhibition diverges from the conventional narrative of modern art, which often centers around shifts between figuration and abstraction. Instead, Forms cleverly engages with and challenges this historical trajectory. The curated works not only acknowledge but also accentuate the dynamic interplay between abstraction and figuration, employing surrogates and references to the representational world. Save the dates from December 5 to 10 to experience this intriguing exploration during the vibrant Miami Art Week.
