The Stars Came Out To Raise Funds + Awareness For The Global Down Syndrome Foundation
On Saturday, November 18, Global Down Syndrome Foundation (GLOBAL) raised $2.5 million at their Beautiful Be Yourself Fashion Show, held at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel. The star-studded event, now in its 15th year, was attended by celebrities including Rob Lowe, Laura Linney, John C. McGinley, Caterina Scorsone, Kevin McKidd, Anthony Hill, Alexis Floyd, Jake Borelli, Danielle Savre, Terrell Davis, Beverly Johnson and Max Carver.
After 21 brilliant models who happen to have Down syndrome rocked the runway, director Bobby Farrelly and extraordinary self-advocate and actress Madison Tevlin, were presented with the Quincy Jones Exceptional Advocacy Awards (Q-Award) for their work on Champions, a heartfelt comedy starring Woody Harrelson and Kaitlin Olsen that centers around a basketball coach who helms a team of players with intellectual disabilities.
