Royal Glamour, Global Impact: The Prince's Trust Gala Unveils Transformative Stories + Future Visions

Dame Joan Collins DBE, Pierce Brosnan OBE, Stephen Fry, and Nicholas Hoult, serving as ambassadors, recently convened to celebrate The Prince’s Trust's impactful initiatives in Los Angeles. The event witnessed guests being captivated by the inspiring journey of Dave Thomas, now a distinguished stylist for luminaries like Lionel Richie.

Supported by a grant from The Prince’s Trust in 1998, Thomas's trajectory led him to become the world’s youngest fashion editor and a stylist for global icons such as Lionel Richie, John Legend, The Spice Girls, and Dr. Dre. These influential ambassadors and their compelling stories shine a light on the transformative influence of The Prince’s Trust, a catalyst for creating opportunities and shaping successful careers in the dynamic realms of entertainment and fashion.

Founded in 1976 in the UK by His Majesty The King, later His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, The Prince’s Trust, now transitioning to The King’s Trust, has been a steadfast supporter of underserved youth, guiding them into work, education, and training. With a remarkable legacy of aiding over 1.2 million young individuals in the UK and 22 countries globally, including notable figures like Idris Elba OBE and David Oyelowo, the Trust plays a pivotal role in shaping careers.

Expanding its impact, The Trust began operations in the USA in 2019, initiating projects in New York City, Chicago, and Detroit in collaboration with local organizations. The annual Global Gala in New York, featuring Global Ambassadors Lionel Richie and Edward Enninful OBE, serves as a beacon of support.

In response to the unprecedented challenges posed by the global pandemic and economic downturn, The Prince's Trust's mission is more critical than ever. A staggering 70 million young people worldwide were estimated to be unemployed in 2023. The Trust strives to equip young minds with skills to become entrepreneurs, secure employment, and pursue education, thereby contributing to the development of a skilled workforce.
