Greensward Circle Philanthropists Raise $134,000 to Support Central Park Maintenance

On June 27th, the Central Park Conservancy hosted the Greensward Circle’s annual “Evening at the Water" summer benefit, raising an impressive $134,000 in support of maintaining Central Park as a respite from the pace and pressures of city life for all visitors. The Greensward Circle is the Central Park Conservancy’s membership network of professionals ages 21 to 39, who support the ongoing restoration and maintenance of Central Park through volunteerism, awareness building, and philanthropy.

“Central Park is the heart and soul of New York City. On any day, at any time of year, the Park is filled with people looking for a peaceful escape from urban life,” said Rebecca Malizia, Co-Chair. “The Greensward Circle, the young professional network of the Central Park Conservancy, supports the Conservancy’s efforts to preserve and protect this place that is special to so many.”

Taking place at one of New York’s most recognizable venues, Conservatory Water, the theme of this year’s benefit was “A Night to Set Sail”. Nearly 400 guests were in attendance, many donning nautical cocktail attire to lean into the maritime theme.

Guests sipped on sparkling rose wine generously provided by Aphrodise, as well as gin, whiskey, and vodka donated by Castle and Key, as they mingled with other distinguished and passionate professionals. Talkhouse Encore provided ready to drink tequila cocktails, and Via Carota Craft Cocktails supplied a variety of other craft beverages such as French 75s and spritzes.

Edenopolis wowed guests with food presentation and delicious bites, assembling an aesthetic and culinarily pleasing 20-foot grazing station on the edge of the water. Poetry at Party had Haikuists at the party, creating custom haikus disguised as a message in a bottle for guests, and all departed the event with a delicious chocolate chip scone donated by the Hungry Gnome
