Fashion Group International (FGI) Celebrates 40th Annual Night of Stars Gala

Fashion Group International (FGI) celebrated its 40th annual Night of Stars Gala at The Plaza in Manhattan, bringing together influential figures from the fashion industry and related sectors. This prestigious event, held tonight, honored the change-makers and creatives whose contributions have significantly shaped the cultural landscape.

The evening commenced with excitement as notable personalities walked the red carpet, including Kate Hudson, Nicky Hilton Rothschild, Coco Rocha, Reed and Delphine Krakoff, Elie Tahari, Zac Posen, Fern Mallis, and the D’Amelio family, among others.

An exclusive pre-event cocktail reception, hosted by designer Cyril Verdavainne—who recently won the FGI Rising Star Eveningwear award—featured an array of models and included appearances by Lynda Lopez, Amina Vassa, and CNBC’s Rebecca Quick.

Following the reception, guests enjoyed a dinner and awards ceremony that celebrated a diverse array of honorees. FGI President & CEO Maryanne Grisz, along with Alyce Panico, Patrick Valeo, Elie Tahari, and Dennis Basso, shared remarks throughout the evening, with Basso delivering a special toast to commemorate 40 years of the Night of Stars.

The 2024 FGI Night of Stars honored leaders in several categories:

  • Fashion Visionary: Reed Krakoff, presented by Trey Laird

  • Design Heritage: MAX MARA, accepted by Maria Giulia Prezioso Maramotti, presented by Kate Hudson

  • FGI Founders' Award: Fern Mallis, presented by Stephanie Ruhle, MSNBC

  • Humanitarian Award: Harry Kargman, Kargo, presented and accepted by Jeannine Shao Collins

  • Fashion Vanguard Award: LaQuan Smith, presented by Jacqueline Cooper

  • Media Award: Marc, Heidi, Dixie, and Charli D'Amelio, presented by Davis Burleson

  • Beauty Award: Catherine Bomboy Dougherty, The Estée Lauder Companies Inc., presented by Alexandra Devlin, William Morris Endeavor

Other distinguished guests included Frederick Anderson, Todd Snyder, Gary Wassner, Nina Garcia, and many more.
