For nearly seven decades, the Summer Party has been a beloved community tradition, drawing supporters from across the East End to celebrate philanthropy and raise funds for Stony Brook Southampton Hospital (SBSH) and the newly opened Stony Brook East Hampton Emergency Department (EHED).
Chairing this year’s event is Sarah Wetenhall, a dedicated board member known for her creativity and passion.
“The Summer Party is more than just a night of celebration it’s a powerful reminder of what we can achieve together,”
Wetenhall shared. “Supporting the vital services of SBSH and EHED ensures our neighbors have access to life-saving care right here at home.”
The evening honors the extraordinary generosity of Kate and Andrew Davis, whose advocacy and unwavering support have been instrumental in expanding healthcare access on the South Fork. Julia McCormack, President of the Southampton Hospital Foundation, praised the couple as “true champions of our mission.”
Guests will be immersed in a scene brought to life by designer DeJuan Stroud, with Moroccan-inspired décor setting the tone for the night. Elegant Affiars will serve up a tantalizing array of Moroccan canapés, complemented by the smooth lounge sounds of American Idol alum Christiaan Padavan. Wölffer Estate Vineyard returns as the title wine sponsor, offering their celebrated Sagaponack vintages throughout the evening.
Following cocktails, a seated dinner will be served, featuring a paddle auction led by renowned auctioneer Lydia Fenet. The night will conclude with decadent desserts and dancing to the lively beats of Overdrive, all enhanced by Luminous Designs’ expert lighting and sound production.
The importance of the event is underscored by the recent opening of the East Hampton Emergency Department, which has already served over 2,000 patients since May. James D. Forbes, Chairman of The Southampton Hospital Association, emphasized the critical need for expanded emergency care on the East End, noting that the Summer Party reflects the community’s dedication to maintaining high-quality healthcare access.
With a large team of vice chairs, associate chairs, and publicity leaders, alongside media sponsors such as Dan’s Papers and Hamptons Magazine, the 67th Annual Summer Party is poised to be a night of elegance, generosity, and impact.
All proceeds will directly benefit Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare across the South Fork, including vital investments in the Paulson Family Emergency Department and the new East Hampton Emergency Department.
