MOONZz Releases Modern Ritual EP and New Single Titled "Runnin"

On March 6th, 2020, emerging singer/songwriter MOONZz released her latest EP titled, Modern Ritual. Making music since she was just five years old, the young artist has always possessed a passion for song, and uses her powerful pipes to spread an even more powerful message. Modern Ritual is all about self-love, pushing past boundaries, finding our true selves, and continuing to persevere despite the negativity we may face from others. The EP touches upon the many phases of life we experience as we grow, and reminds us that each phase, no matter how difficult it may be, plays an important role on our journey to self-discovery. Since her debut back in 2015, MOONZz has received high praise from a variety of media sources including V Magazine, Ones to Watch, Earmilk, and Noisey just to name a few.

In addition to the release of her EP, MOONZz also dropped a new single titled, “Runnin”. The song pairs vivid vocals with a robust rhythm, and inspires listeners to live freely and authentically by breaking down the walls that confine them.

Excited to learn more about the talented artist and her current EP, BELLA connected with MOONZz herself…

How would you describe the overall feel of your Modern Ritual EP?

I would describe Modern Ritual as evolved and definitely more pop-centric than my last EP.

Do you have a favorite song on the EP? If so, why that song?

“What It’s Like,” for sure. I think for a long time I felt like I didn’t deserve to find a love like what I have now, and it reflected in my music. I feel like I wrote a lot of songs out of fear of not being enough or being rejected. For me, “What It’s Like” was that moment where I was like, wow I deserve love and I found someone that loves me for who I am and all I’m worth, and I want to write about that and love that forever.

How do you feel you have evolved as an artist since your debut in 2015?

I’ve definitely gotten a much stronger sense of who I am, and I think that’s also reflected in who I surround myself with, who I work with. But I think that I’m a much more confident and driven human in the industry who knows what they want and what they deserve.

What do you hope your listeners take away from your music?

I want them to feel like it’s a safe space and I want them to feel loved in every phase of their life.

What would be a dream project for you?

I would say a sustainable MOONZz fashion line rolled out with the seasons.
