From Runway to Rainforest - Katie Cleary’s Journey as an Animal Activist

Katie Cleary has had quite the career journey. After 20 successful years working in the entertainment industry as a model and actress, Katie has initiated a unique transition. Channeling her passion for animal rescue, Katie now serves as one of the world’s leading animal activists and documentary filmmakers. The committed advocate for wildlife preservation has created multiple educational films, started a non-profit organization, and launched the media outlet “World Animal News” to raise awareness and funds in support of the critical issues our planet and the species who inhabit it face.

Katie got her start on the pilot season of hit TV series “America’s Next Top Model”, starring host and fellow model Tyra Banks. Following her time on the iconic series, Katie went on to have an expansive career in the industry including a four year stretch on “Deal or No Deal”, and appearances in dozens of national advertising campaigns. Katie has also served as an on camera host for E! News Now, and can be spotted in many films including beloved romcom “The Break Up” starring Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn.

Although acting in Hollywood was always a dream of Katie’s, she has pivoted to spend the second half of her career devoting her talent to helping four legged friends across the world. Currently, Katie is traveling the U.S. to film her upcoming documentary “Protectors of the Wild”, a film aimed at educating the public on the urgent need to save the endangered wild wolves in North America and their crucial role in our ecosystem. She also recently directed and produced the acclaimed documentary “WHY ON EARTH” featuring Clint Eastwood and Maggie Q, which shed light on the devastating effects of deforestation on endangered species.

Katie’s dedication to wildlife conservation extends beyond filmmaking, as she is also the founder and creator of “World Animal News” : a trusted source for breaking animal, environmental, and plant-based news worldwide. Additionally, Katie serves as president of the non-profit organization “Peace 4 Animals” which helps rescue, rehabilitate and rehome domestic animals, as well as educating the public on how to coexist with wild animals. Utilizing her platform to further showcase her commitment to wildlife preservation, Katie has raised significant funds for animal-related causes.

With no plans of slowing down, Katie intends to continue serving as a voice for those without one. Be sure to tune into “Protectors of the Wild” once released, and follow Katie on Instagram at @KatieCleary11 to stay updated on all of her meaningful endeavors.
