Everything Wedding Decor, Florals, Stationary + More, Meet The Team Behind BLVD Events + Designs

Planning your big day can be as stressful as it is magical. We visualize this moment for months, years, even a lifetime, and ultimately, bringing your dream celebration to life entails everything from decor to florals, favors, and everything in between. But, if you are lucky enough to find one vendor who can pull all of your design and decor components together and guide you in executing your vision, the stress of the planning process melts away. One such brand is Blvd Events & Designs, who specialize in everything from bridal showers and engagement parties to full blown wedding celebrations. A family business, leading with love and authenticity, the Blvd team leaves no stone unturned when creating the most memorable of milestone moments in your life.

Here is their story…

Our story is quite simple and one that’s been told before; we followed our passion and turned it into a business. I am Brittany Perez, my mom is Roni Libutti, and we are the proud owners of Blvd Events & Designs. For as long as I can remember my mom has been creative. She helped my siblings and I with all our school projects, she wrote poetry that inspired her, and personalized poems for others. She transformed our two-car garage into a haunted house for neighbors to trick or treat in for twenty years. She created scenery for birthday parties, hosted remarkable holidays, and always had her own set of crafts in the works. Mom loves coming up with something in her head and bringing it to life. We call her the “magic behind the scenes,” as she is a master in the creative world and is most comfortable designing out of the spotlight.

I always loved art; I tried my hand at different mediums and finally found my calling at 19, when I discovered stationery. My passion for art took me on a journey I wasn’t expecting when I set out to be an Art Therapist. The recommended path was to get a master’s degree in art therapy. I started with an undergraduate degree in special education and had a series of events which led to a master’s degree in Deaf Education. I taught remotely while raising three little boys for five years. On my breaks from college, my mom and I would sit at the kitchen table and craft. We got certified in scrapbooking and were mostly making cards and sample invitations.

We absolutely loved our time creating together, visiting craft towns and local craft fairs, and fantasized about the day we would have our own shop or booth. We continued to work together creating décor for countless friends and family’s weddings, baby showers, bridal showers, birthday parties, and holidays. In 2020, I hosted my cousin Nia’s bridal shower at my home; mom and I worked together to create a unique party that captured the essence of who my cousin is. We covered every detail from what color guests should wear, to what color they should wrap their presents in, and created a candle lit dinner where guests ate at low tables using pillows as chairs. It was a spectacular evening.

A few months later we decorated Nia and Christopher’s wedding, making their invitations, centerpieces, escort cards, table numbers, a ten-foot custom garland to frame out the ceremony, bouquets, boutonnieres, and custom signage. After these two back-to-back events, Nia pushed us outside our comfort zone and encouraged us to simply start an Instagram account for our business. When I asked mom what our name should be, she responded with “BLVD,” which stands for Brittany, Louis, Veronica, Danielle - the name represents me and my siblings. Our business is strongly rooted in family, so having a name that encompasses that was the only option. We were shocked that after only a few weeks on social media, we booked our first real job and were hired for a bridal shower, followed by the same client’s wedding. And so, Blvd Events & Designs came to life!

Over the past two years we have been working with a variety of clients and a variety of themes for bridal showers, baby showers, birthday parties, weddings, graduation parties, engagement parties, and holiday parties. We cover almost every type of décor: backdrops, balloon garlands, silk flower arrangements and centerpieces, invitations, stationery, and signage. Mom and I have learned to split our roles, as we both have different strengths and passions. We start by designing everything as a team; we review colors, sizes, and materials. From there, we each get into our roles and start working. Mom is responsible for all our floral designs, balloons, and large-scale custom designs. I am the creator of our stationery products and custom signage. I also run our social media accounts and handle all our client interactions.

Our slogan for the past two years has been “creating custom décors for all events.” We won’t get rid of this phrase, but we are constantly learning and evolving from client feedback and what works best for us. We are currently working on offering preset designs for clients to choose from, designing backdrops with set balloon colors and florals so clients can visit our website and simply select the backdrop design they like best. We are working on these preset designs for our floral centerpieces, invitations, stationery, and signage as well. Over the past two years we have established a brand for our business, and we want to create décor that best represents our brand while simplifying the design process for clients.

And that is how we turned our passion into a business. We have big dreams for where we want to see this business go and we learned from our own leap of faith that we can turn any of our dreams for the future into a reality!
