From brides wearing color down the aisle to intimate gatherings and experiential festivities, weddings continue to change with the times. What are some of the biggest trends you’ve seen so far in 2024?

The main thing I've noticed this year is how weddings are much more personal and authentic. Brides are choosing bold colors and unique themes that reflect their individual styles! We’re totally shifting out and away from the beige aesthetic, and into bold vibrant colors.

There’s also a rise in micro-weddings and elopements. Couples want to focus on those special moments with their nearest and dearest!

I’m also hearing the phrase “non-wedding weddings.” Couples want to celebrate with their family and friends but aren’t necessarily sticking to the traditional wedding format. We’re seeing family-style menus, and fly-on-the-wall photography that captures real, candid moments. Some couples are even doing intimate ceremonies, and then throwing a big party with everyone the next day.

Lastly, we can't forget the hired professional content creators! This year we’ve certainly seen that take off! Couples are hiring people to take content on their phones to use on social media - this is one of the major trends we are seeing in 2024.

As couples, and brides, are opting for more non-traditional themes and aspects of their big day, what are the non-traditional trends you hope are here to stay?

I really hope some of these trends, like fashion forward attire and experiential elements, stick around. It’s all about celebrating individuality and your personal style - making weddings feel more personal and less like a set formula.

Also, sweetheart tables? They’re out, and I’m totally here for it! Instead of sitting isolated at a table for two, couples are choosing to sit with their family and friends. You have the rest of your life to eat with your spouse—this is one of the few times you have all your loved ones together. I think because of that, couples are getting artsy with their table layout and design. I’ve seen a bunch of weddings that have super long curvy tables - they’re so fun!

We're also still loving Lambeth style vintage cakes, family style meals, and interactive or experiential moments at receptions. Think live paintings, tarot card readings, engravers, cigar bars, etc. Our couples are really getting adventurous with their wedding aesthetics, and we are all about it.

As experts in the industry are there any trends you wish would go away?

I’d like to see the trend of extravagance, and more is better, chill a bit! There’s already so much pressure around weddings that it can overshadow what the day is truly about - celebrating love. When couples go overboard with decor and themes that don’t reflect who they truly are, it strips away the uniqueness of their special day. Weddings should tell personal stories, not just follow trends for the sake of it.

And let’s be real: when couples focus too much on creating social media content, it can feel inauthentic. I get wanting to capture those moments but remember to be present. You're only getting married once!

What can we expect in 2025 - gown trends, color schemes, intimate gatherings, etc.…

Looking ahead to 2025, intimate gatherings will probably stay popular as couples focus on spending quality time with loved ones.

Hiring professional wedding content creators will continue to grow. Ironically, I think the rise of social media is making couples want smaller and intimate ceremonies - keeping it private.

In terms of fashion, I expect a mix of vintage and modern styles, with unique fabrics and silhouettes becoming more popular. When it comes to photography, documentary-style is going to take center stage. Couples are wanting fewer posed portraits and more candid, real moments.
