Join The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation, In Celebrating 22nd Collaboration For A Cure Gala

By Kelly Bellucci

The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF) is proud to present its 22nd annual Collaboration for a Cure Benefit Dinner and Auction! The event will take place on Thursday, November 21st at Cipriani Wall Street, and will feature a live musical performance by Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real. In addition to its fabulous fare, celebratory spirit, and lively auction, the gala will honor three remarkable individuals for their involvement in the fight to eliminate cancer.

The SWCRF is a nonprofit organization that works tirelessly to uncover the cure for cancer. The Collaboration for a Cure Gala plays a huge role in this pursuit, as it provides the funding for advanced research, and directly supports a team of high level scientists as well. The event is revered for its remarkable mission, and has raised millions of dollars in the past through the generous donations of its attendees. This year, the SWCRF recognizes Kobi Halperin, Valery Joseph, and Marc D. Taub for their contributions.

Kobi Halperin is the Chief Creative Officer of the ready-to-wear label, Kobi Halperin. The designer is known for his close attention to detail which provides each piece with its own unique flair. Using only the most luxurious materials and hand-crafted embellishments, it is no wonder his brand is well loved by women everywhere. In addition to design, Halperin is extremely passionate about shaping the future of fashion as well. He currently serves as a mentor to Savannah College of Art and Design students, and as a role model to his two daughters.

Valery Joseph is a NYC based celebrity hairstylist and owner of Valery Joseph Salons. While serving in the army, Joseph discovered his passion for styling when he was assigned to cut the hair of high-ranking officials. He is celebrated for his unique technique which creates a custom cut for each and every client.

Marc D. Taub is the President and CEO of Taub Family Companies, a family owned business operating in the wine and spirits industry. Taub is known for his continuous involvement in a number of charitable events, granting him the title of “Man of the Year” by The 50 Club in 2012. He has played an important role on the committees of many organizations as well, such as the Diabetes Research Foundation, American Cancer Society, and the UJA Foundation.

If you would like to contribute to the cause, you can visit waxmancancer.org to participate in the Waxman Gala Match Challenge. Any donation made now through November 21st will be matched dollar-for-dollar, and directly helps the SWCRF reach their fundraising goal of $1,000,000.
