Book Recommendations Readers Will Love

By Barbara Bellisi Zito

Books are the gift that keeps on giving. Here, we’ve rounded up some of the best titles that are on our radar this season.

For those who love a thought-provoking memoir…

“Blissful Thinking: A Memoir of Overcoming the Wellness Revolution” by L.L. Kirchner | Motina Books

After her husband asked for a divorce over the phone, Kirchner was scared she’d return to the addictions she fought so hard to overcome. In an effort to pick up the pieces, she launches herself on a spiritual journey that takes her from one side of the world to the other. This page-turner of a memoir takes us through Kirchner’s quest to regain her confidence and ability to love again.

For those who crave a compelling fantasy series…

“The Echoes of Fallen Stars: Gods and Mortals” by J.D. Netto | NettoVerse

What if Lucifer was doomed not because of his rebellion against Hannell the Creator, but his love for him? This tale of forbidden love is what starts off Netto’s “The Echoes of Fallen Stars” series and continues with the latest installment, “Gods and Mortals,” in which “gods are sinners, mortals are bait, and faith is a thorn in the flesh.”

For those with a passion for good food and good deeds…

“The World Central Kitchen Cookbook: Feeding Humanity, Feeding Hope” by José Andrés | Clarkson Potter Publishers

Spanish-American chef and restaurateur Andrés founded the World Central Kitchen, a nonprofit dedicated to feeding communities impacted by natural disasters and humanitarian crises. This book gathers stories and recipes from chefs and other volunteers who have been on the ground in these devastated regions. Don’t miss the forward by Stephen Colbert and contributions from Marcus Samuelsson, Emeril Lagasse, Michelle Obama, and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.
