Shimmering Solstice returns to Old Westbury Gardens, Long Island

Everyone knows New York is a great spot for Christmas. But not just the city has a lot to offer. On November 25th opened the Shimmering Solstice in Long Island where visitors have the chance to dive into a world full of lights.
The hour-long walkthrough experience offers wonderful lights in all shapes and colors to seasonal music. The whole setup was customized to the landscape and architecture. Visitors walk the beautiful paths of Old Westbury Gardens through the world-famous Walled Garden, Rose Garden, South Lawn, Allée, and more while being surrounded by magical lights. The light show also includes interactive elements and even has a great location for proposals.Since it can get very cold this time of the year, a lively warm area with a concession stand for snacks and drinks is placed along the way to the highlight and final destination at Westbury house. The 10-minute intricately designed light show, projected onto the South facade, marks the perfect end to the incredible experience.
The planning of Shimmering Solstice took about a year and has been designed by Lightswitch with Catholic Health as the presenting sponsor. Everything was installed in under three weeks by a team of 25 designers, technicians, and crew. The hard and detailed work pays off. Visitors get to experience a one-mile path light show, covering 13 acres.
Whether you go with the whole family, as a couple, or on your own, it's suitable either way. Those that went last year will notice additional visuals and changes, so it's worth it to come again for sure!
