Louis Vuitton Introduces First Men's Fine Jewelry Collection: Les Gaston Vuitton
Louis Vuitton has just launched their first men’s fine jewelry collection. Curated by LV’s artistic director, Francesca Amfitneatrof, this collection is inspired by Louis Vuitton’s grandson Gaston Louis Vuitton. The 16-piece and 2-masterpiece collection pulls from the history and creative elegance of Gaston. The collection even debuts LV’s use of titanium.
Gaston was a creator, collector, and creative mind. He has been described as a “creative and elegant man remembered for being ahead of his time.” The collection celebrates him as an individual pulling from his passion for collecting, typography, monograms, books, art, travel, trunks, games, and toys into the collection. Painted as a multifaceted man and a curious soul the fine jewelry collection represents him as being effortlessly luxurious and versatile.
“After all, we all have a bit of Gaston in us.”
Rooted in Louis Vuitton’s heritage, the collection takes Gaston’s hobbies and translates them into parts of the collection to paint a story as well as highlight facets of his personality. The campaign deems that Gaston has commonalities with both men and women of today, hence the campaign features all genders.
Using laser cutting precision the monogram pieces are an ode to his passion. The monogram jewelry is fresh and contemporary, making a note of identity. Infusing Gaston’s hobby of collection LV translates that to gourmettes that rework the chain into something solid, elegant, and modern.
The trunk aspect of this collection serves as a motif. These pieces feature the smallest version of silver and diamonds. The materials are yellow gold, white gold, and debt titanium. The fine jewelry features a mechanical ring and pendant as interactive jewelry pieces to tap into Gaston’s personality as an inventor. The pieces showcase his playful side.
The brand introduces Les Gaston Vuitton Blue, a titanium metal that is inspired by denim giving the metal a deep pooling navy color. Francesca Amfitneatrof describes this metal as the denim of jewelry due to its timeless qualities and sophistication. “This collection is a bit like your pair of jeans…Everyone owns a pair of jeans and the more you wear your jeans the more you love them.”
