Libertine Celebrates Summer 2024 Collection at Intimate Dinner with Martha Stewart
Kicking off the summer season, Libertine’s Creative Director Johnson Hartig hosted an intimate dinner at luxurious Sag Harbor boutique Sage & Madison, to celebrate Libertine’s 2024 summer collection. Martha Stewart, a long time supporter of the exclusive fashion label, served as the event’s guest of honor, mingling with other VIP patrons of the house. The elegant dinner took place in Sage & Madison’s secluded garden, featuring a delicious three-course meal prepared by Chef Hank Tomashevski and a beautifully curated tablescape designed with pieces from the Von Gern Home collection.
The evening also commemorated Libertine’s two week summer residency in Sag Harbor, which came to an end on July 1st. Libertine, founded by Johnson Hartig in 2001, is a visionary fashion brand known for its meticulous craftsmanship and vibrant designs that have pushed boundaries by merging fashion, art, and culture to create a unique aesthetic. The brand has gained global recognition and a cult following over the years, making their Sag Harbor residency an ideal opportunity for Hartig to showcase his coveted collection to exclusive clientele in a stunning seaside location.
The event’s venue, Sage & Madison, was a perfectly suited location for guests to enjoy the tranquil meal. The candlelit tablescape sat in the midst of lush greenery and aromatic florals, adorned with brightly patterned tableware that set a tone of summer fun and celebration of creative expression. The guests themselves flaunted equally stunning attire, many indulging in eccentric prints.
Sage and Madison’s Sag Harbor boutique first opened its doors in late 2020, offering a variety of unique gifts for home and garden, with a strong focus on local handmade and fair trade goods. Among the curated selection is tea and coffee, gardenware and plants, locally made jewelry, candles, hand crafted cards, and more. Owner and curator of Sage & Madison, Chris Coffee, was also in attendance.
To the delight of guests, the dinner menu was also carefully selected with a focus on local charm, resulting in dishes packed with an assortment of the freshest local offerings. Renowned Chef Hank Tomashevski, who has been featured in Vogue and the New York Times among other publications, graced guests’ plates with delicious culinary offerings including English pea soup, homemade ricotta gnocchi with lobster, chicken breast with goat cheese, key lime pie, and strawberry shortcake.
