Wedding Beauty: A Dash Above Traditional

Today’s bride is totally different than the blushing beauty of the past. She requires more time, and that means more products. Before anyone says, “I do,” make sure the bride says “yes” to these tips, cultivated from my years of experience as a makeup artist, with lots of bridal applications.

Use a primer that suits your skin type.

If you have large pores or oily skin, go with a matte-based primer. If you want a dewy look, start with a primer that has the words “Glowy” or “Dewy” on the bottle. It’s also a good idea to apply eye primer on as well. Check out NYX primers—they’re really good and affordable.

Start with the eye shadow and what you want to achieve..

Make sure the pigment is good because when you take photos, things tend to lighten up. You’ll want to be confident that your look is going to transfer to the camera well. Most brides like anything from MAC Cosmetics or DIOR.

Skin foundation is always important.

Choose a palette with lots of options and shades. For example, the Graftobian makeup palette is perfect. It comes in several kits available in cool, warm, or neutral tones. It delivers a creamy finish with great coverage.

Get prepped for a perfect smile..

For cheeks and lips, I like to use NARS blush with Pyramid Highlighter for the glow. And for lips, try Berry Berry Bubblegum topped with the clear Plumping Gloss, also by Pyramid Cosmetics.

Brows are a personal preference...

but they’re always important! If you want natural brows, take a clear mascara and brush them—any brand will do for that. If you prefer more structured, opt for “Brow Down Betch” by Pyramid.

Lock in your flawless face…

Make sure to set it all with some powder in the oily areas and use a setting spray. The Milani brand makes a great setting spray.

You’re now ready to walk down the aisle in full coverage and confidence.

Take plenty of pictures and have the time of your life!
