Summer, swim, beach, and pool days are all things epitomizing the current and coming weeks. In case you missed it, Miami Swim Week just happened, giving a sneak peak of all things hot and trending - including a Barbie inspired pony.
The Beachwaver Co. team was backstage as tool sponsor, creating noteworthy looks that can easily be replicated at home or on your next vacay. See below for all the stunning looks and how-to’s exclusively curated by Beachwaver Stylist, Tiffany Rene (@tiffanyrenestyles).
LILIANA MONTOYA: Natural Textured Beachy Wave
Step 1: Create a perfect side part by following the arch of your brow up through the hair with a Wide Tooth Comb. I love using this guide to get the perfect dramatic side part every time. Prep your hair with Great Barrier Heat Protectant Hairspray.
Step 2: Using the Beachwaver S.75 create classic Beachwaves all the way around the head. Divide your hair into sections, clipping up the top half of your hair. Take a small section of hair from the bottom, clamp the Beachwaver near the ends, and press the arrow pointing away from your face to curl, hold for a few seconds, and then release the curl.
Step 3: After the hair has completely cooled, finger comb through the curls to break them up and add texture. Then, feather Team Texture Dry Finishing Spray through the bottom and bang of the hair to add incredible volume. For even more volume towards the crown of the head, back-comb the root.
Tip: Allowing the curls to cool completely is key in creating long-lasting styles. You don’t want to touch or brush through them while the hair is still warm or you risk causing the curl to fall and straighten.
Step 4: To add a little bit of shine, lightly spray Shine Squad Shine Spray from middle to the ends of the hair.
WILFREDO GERARDO: Barbie Pony
Step 1: For this look, start by using the smoothing attachment on the Blow Brush prepping the hair with Luxe Leave-In Conditioning Detangler.
Step 2: Straighten the hair using the Coast Pro Flat Iron for a full smooth finish.
Step 3: Section the hair from ear to ear creating two separate sections for the half of half down look.
Step 4: Smooth the top section of the hair into a high ponytail using Keep It Calm Smoothing Cream and Shine Bright Serum to add shine and eliminate flyaways. Then secure the ponytail with an elastic.
Step 5: Using the Beachwaver Pro 1 roller set fashion, curling the hair horizontally, and pinning the curls to create longevity of the style as the curls cool.
Step 6: To finish this look, add Team Texture and Shine Squad Shine Spray to add gloss and dimension. To seal the ends for a beautiful sleek finish, add Shine Bright Serum. Then, brush the curls out to create this soft glamorous Barbie pony!
MONOPOLY X CHEF NOBU + CARMEN STEFFANS: Beachy Waves
Step 1: To create this beautiful soft beachy wave, start by brushing the hair with our Prep Brush to make sure the hair is knot-free.
Step 2: Next, part the hair into sections using the Wide Tooth Comb.
Step 3: After the hair is parted, prep the hair with Great Barrier Heat Protectant Hairspray for optimal protection. Note: this product is a lightweight dry heat protectant and styling spray!
Step 4: For a soft beachy wave, curl the hair using our Beachwaver Pro 1.25.
Step 5: Once the curls are cool to the touch, spray the hair with Team Texture Dry Finishing Spray for added volume.
Step 6: Gently brush out the curls using the On- Set Pro Brush for a beautiful uniform finish. To really help make the hair smooth, spray the On-Set Brush with Great Barrier Heat Protectant Hairspray before brushing through the curls.
Step 7: Smooth the ends and reduce flyaways with Keep It Calm Styling Cream.
GIANINA AZAR: Fishtail Bun
Step 1: Slick the hair into a high pony using Epic Flex Styling Gel and smooth it with Great Barrier Heat Protectant Hairspray.
Step 2: After the hair is smoothed into a ponytail with an On-Set Pro Brush, secure it with an elastic around the base.
Step 3: Separate a small piece of hair from the ponytail and wrap it around the elastic for a nice, neat finish.
Step 4: Next, add Braid Balm to the ponytail and smooth it out, separating it into two sections, to begin my fishtail braid.
Step 5: To create a fishtail braid, take small sections. One at a time from the two strands, viewing these sections as two smaller ponytails. Take a section from the right ponytail and pass it over to the left. Then take a small section from the left ponytail and pass it to the right. Continue this pattern to the end of the hair. Once you finish the fishtail braid, secure the end of the braid with a clear elastic. You then roll the fishtail braid in a circular motion underneath the ponytail, securing the bottom with hair pins leaving the center hollow.
Step 6: Finish the style with Shine Squad Shine Spray and Great Barrier Heat Protectant Hairpsray for a beautiful couture finish!
MARQUEZA: Mermaid Waves
Step 1: Start by prepping the hair with Luxe Leave-In Conditioning Detangler then use the Blow Brush to make sure the hair is smooth, dry, and frizz-free.
Step 2: Part the hair horizontally and start waving about ¾ from the scalp. With the 3B Waver, horizontally place the hair in between the barrels (double barrel side underneath the section of hair) and the clamp and I close it, creating the first set of waves. Work through the hair in small sections to achieve a very textured wave pattern.
Step 3: Following this, slide the first barrel down to where the third barrel previously was and close again. This technique helps to create the most uniform wave from route to end. You want to continue this method down the hair shaft, repeating these steps, until the full head is completely waived.
Step 4: To finish his beautiful look, add Shine Bright Keratin + Argan Serum throughout the hair to give a beautiful shine and gloss, as well as finishing the style off with Shine Squad Shine Spray.
