305 Day + Women’s History Month Programming at the Art of Hip Hop

In honor of 305 Day, the Art of Hip Hop has announced a major exhibition as well as an all-women panel, highlighting Miami’s talent. The exhibition calls for a celebration and reflection on the culture and art of the hip-hop music industry.

The 305 exhibition will take place on “305 Day”, March 5th. The exhibition celebrates Miami’s deep-rooted hip-hop presence and showcases promising talent. Album cover art by Skam2, who notoriously has done the art of Eminem, will be showcased. Neighborhood pioneer Erni Vales will have large-scale studio paintings displayed as well as vintage works from the 90s. Lastly, there will be sprawling images of Rick Ross taken by photographer David Cabrera. The images will celebrate the theme of the acquisition of wealth and material possessions through self-expression. The theme will be shown through musicians photographed wearing diamonds and chains.

The exhibition’s mission is to deepen the exploration of hip-hop culture. Art of Hip Hop highlights the creators behind hip hop’s visual identity, straying away from rappers and DJs, and giving a spotlight to photographers, album cover artists, logo designers, and more.

Tickets are $3.05 all day on March 5th. The event is all day at The Art Of Hip Hop - 299 NW 25th Street, Miami FL 33127.

The Art of Hip Hop will honor the mavens of Miami’s hip-hop radios; Supa Cindy, Lucy Lopez, and Stichiz on March 15th.

The event honors International Women’s month with an open panel discussion to celebrate and discuss how these women rose to fame in a male-dominated industry. The women will be presented with awards for their achievements.

Lucy Lopez (Power 96) has been the voice of Miami for 15-plus years. Stichiz, has been celebrated for her multilingual artistry. Supa Cindy has had multiple collaborations and has had an influential role at 99 Jamz.

The discussion panel is on March 15th at 6-9 pm at the Art of Hip Hop in Miami. Visit https://www.artofhiphop.com/ for tickets for each of the events.
